As scheduled, our house warming ceremony started 7AM. I woke up around 6:30AM as I slept around 2 AM as I was inspecting the unfinished work at our new home. Then, hurriedly, got freshened.
The ceremony started with a cow entering our new home. Then next was ganga pooja (worship of water). The holy water was sprinkled to nook and corner of the house. Next was pooja of Ganesha, Uma Maheshwara and Vaastu. After this, Navagraha pooja (the worship of 9 planets). Then came Rudrabhisheka (another type of pooja). And last to go was Varada Shankara Pooja. These whole bunches of pooja took close to 6 hours (7AM to 1PM). This is one of the biggest pooja I have ever done in my life time :-).
What better way to inaugurate our new home than to throw a treat to 350+ of our closest friends/relatives. The menu had pure Vegetarian food which included Ladu, Mandige(its favourite sweet of my dad), puliogre, kosumbri, beans palle, tomato chutney, rice, sambar, majjige and mirchi bajji. The menu really made my taste buds active. I enjoyed the food and hope all the invitees too…
Few of my close friends were having a nice time outside, while I was busy with poojas. It was get together for all of my friends sharing the golden moments that we had in the past. I was not able to talk much to my friends as I was tied up with so many things. One unfortunate event happened on that day was, one of my friend foot got fractured. Other friend of mine wanted to just give a jerk to him on a Mahindra Scorpio. That guy’s foot slipped in wanting to avoid it. Thank god it was not a major one. Now he is with plaster.
We also invited people involved in construction of our dream home. We gifted them with new clothes and money. I felt very happy while giving and I hope they too felt the same….. We had also invited a swamiji to have his holy blessings. He came around 4 PM and blessed us. The ceremony ended with Antakshari among our relatives. It was a competition between males and females. We had a nice fun in antakshari.
Our dream home was built and ceremony also went off well. I and my family members were very excited about our new home and house warming ceremony. Only one I missed was my dearly loved DAD… :-( I MISS YOU DAD…
